Subject: RE: Lease operators

Central Coast, California
The disposable cow herd part is tough for me. My cows are all on leased ground but we've had it long enough that I've got generations of my breeding in the herd as small as it is.

I know that I could very soon loose all of it so I try not to get too attached. When it comes to the individual cows it's probably easier if your bigger. When you got a few hundred or more they might blend together.

It is a tough game and it really is a matter of economics. I've lost some places as well and just learned I didn't get even a shot to lease a place I've been helping on since I was in highschool. Sure bites at me even thought I understand why.
