N FLA | Thanks for sharing. There are many ways the deck is stacked against us. I didn't feel much sympathy as I drive past 2 farms I previously rented, everyday. And a 3rd one I thought for the last 5 years I'd get a chance to rent and didn't. Didn't really do anything to lose them or have any chance to keep them.
Most of us dream of the opportunity he was given.
But I agree the outside factors are too stiff of competition.
One of the agtalkers told me don't invest in genetics with an insecure land base. So I basically have a disposable cow herd. He was just in the same position as me, except all his eggs in one basket.
I have a feeling this guy has 1500 paid for cows and will go bump off the next guy somewhere else. It's a vicious cycle. And a cruel business.
