Will the barn they're going in be a good environment for bottle babies?

They are more of a threat to each other from the start, and could turn the wrong barn environment into a breeding pool for nasty stuff.

No location, but in any location, before you pull the trigger you should have a discussion with your vet about how advisable this is having considered what he knows about calf raising, the source, and your facility.

Since you have cows ask your vet his opinion on the risk of exposure to Johnes.
