A note of caution.
As noted, roots can burn out a long ways if conditions are right, and that might be over to a building or hay pile too.
After seeing some vids of those non-planned events, it makes a stump grinder look cheap.
By the way, I think it's worth the money just to watch a big diesel powered stump grinder do its job!
