ncia | I was told that he was mostly in Germany, Austria and close to the Swiss border. The war was very close to the end and over while he was there. I’d guess part of the occupation army and discharged in 1946. He was a very fluent German speaker that helped a little with his duties there. After he came back he farmed and was in the army reserve mostly just for the pay . Bad part for him was when Korea started army had him come back to active duty. (In the US) .
The code breaking duty was very specialized and I’m impressed with anyone doing that before our modern rechnology. That’s very very interesting. It’s amazing what people you know did in past lives and experiences.
I was told he got something like $30 for the pistols. Maybe that was a lot back then.
