I'm also from Ontario, i haven't had any issues yet Moreso thinking out of an abundance of caution. I've noticed them running near the cows this fall and they don't really bother the cows at all but don't really want to take any chances with calves in the spring, they're worth too much anymore! That said it's sounding like a rifle is a simpler way to deal with the problem.
