Well I know when you don't want them bred they will lamb out of season.  We made sure the rams weren't with the ewes after mid June because there was nothing worse than dealing a ewe or two that had December lambs.   We had Finn crosses towards the end of our sheep business and what I remember most was my wife cussing about getting 4 lambs from some of the ewes and dealing with bottle lambs.
