Any chance they got bred this summer or would they just be coming into heat now?
If they're in good shape and the ram is working, they should all be bred by now. They wouldn't have bred in the summer if they're seasonal breeders, but Sept and October would have been more than enough time. If they bred in Sept they won't be showing now.
Nothing wrong with small sheep, the ethnic markets sometimes seem to pay by the head, more than by weight. The price per pound goes down so much with the bigger animals that it's best to sell them small. They almost always pay a premium for a fancy small one, so plump looking, not sure the finns can do that, maybe a dorset would help? |
