Central IL | What size wellpump? Larger may require a contactor of some sort to handle the load as stated.
I have only replaced one switch on two different wells in 20 years. Maybe i am lucky but both pumps are only 1/2 hp and my recommendation would be to buy square D pressure switches.
I guess make it two switches replaced counting when i burnt up the motor on the air compressor. Put a square d on it and it has been good with a 3hp motor and no contactor.
Another thought would be is this well far from your electric service where you have too much voltage drop at the pump? Undersized wire? Both are conditions that will increase current draw and will burn switches and pump motors. | |
