west central Iowa | Most people with my size of operation, have a full time job. But I don't, I get the job done with old cheap equipment, that I spend a lot of time working on, but I'd rather be at home doing that than working a job and thinking about farming. And I did make all of the living for fifteen years when the kids were young. For example the tractor and planter I use now cost $4k and plant 400 acres, I do also have livestock. I don't know if this is an option for you, but it may be something to think about. | |
