Short of a divorce I don’t see a solution.
My wife and I read Tim Keller’s book The Meaning of Marriage before we got married. I will always remember one study in that book he cited. There was a study of couples that were considering divorce. 5 years after the couples were considering divorce the study followed up with them. They found that 80% of people who were divorced regretted their divorce 5 years later. The same study also found that of couples that stayed together, 5 years later 80% reported they were doing better in their marriages and were happy they stayed and didn’t get divorced.
I don’t know what to say about your situation, but I feel for you and hope and pray it works out. |
