I went to Graham Cattle School in Kansas years ago and the question came up about learning to do C sections.   The answer we got was the average cattleman shouldn't have that many so he isn't going to be very good at it.  Then the instructor said most vets do a bunch every year and many of them don't get it right. 

I think he was right on about concentrating on eliminating C sections by using better bulls and cows and call the vet for the few you still have to have done.
