There are very, very few folks that make more in retirement than they do working, I’d be no different if tomorrow I hung up my cleats and bronzed my jock strap. The question was what would “I” do, and in my personal situation, what I outlined above for myself would be a perfect fit. I don’t foresee congress messing much with tax brackets in the timeframe I’d be utilizing. The odds are greatly in my favor I’d pay less taxes by deferral than taking income now and prepaying the tax. It’s a strategy we’re already employing, so I’m willing to take those favorable odds.
