We have gone to sampling every field every year and using vari rate across the field. It is surprising to us as to the difference from field to field , year to year. Being able to watch the soil nutrient and organic matter bank annual changes is helpful and validates practices. Custom sampling is a tiny cost compared to the fertilizer cost.
