Southeast Colorado | A little over a decade ago there was an older lady that was a teller in our local bank. She and her husband had just moved to our area from South Africa. According to her they had been pretty good sized farmers back there and had barely escaped with their lives. Most of their neighbors had been murdered. They had worked their entire lives for less than no equity.
I think about their story often and certainly hope that could never happen here. Recent politics does not leave me with the confidence I used to have. | |
