I lost $1000 going the wrong way with hardware but I did have the units to learn configuring. The three I now run I could replicate for $400 each. Time wise maybe and hour to solder and drill holes but I'd have to go to Home Depot to get the waterproof boxes.
Someone setting these up would have to spend some time running a survey for the base station and switching the receiver from survey to static position. One would also have configuring the WIFI and setting up the account on RTK2GO.com. Maybe 2 hours for a Geek like me.
I had 10 hours into setting up my base station, mostly because I relied on the ardusimple config files to set it all up, then got myself banned from RTK2GO 4 times cause everything was wrong. Got lucky and found a video that showed where things were missing. The Ardusimple config files set the board up for the radio antenna, not the usb, so couldnt figure out why i wasn't sending any rtcm out.
