| We have both types of foam. Open cell in the ceiling of one building, closed sell on the walls and in the ceiling of our shop. The closed cell foam is a superior product, it sets up much harder so you have less problems with barn sparrows picking at it or of you bump it. I don't think it will gap (enough to tell) from wood shrinking, but it will if some runs into the wall from the outside. Closed cell foam makes the building air tight, granted we aren't in Minnesota, but it cost the same money to heat our shop this past winter as it did to heat my old drafty house.
