Western Oregon | The MM has a fluted feed that is fairly large in diameter. It is all cast iron, or something like that. If you keep it reasonably clean it does not freeze up like the plastic and metal combination that is on my GP drill. Plus it has a dual drive so it is more accurate on corners and you can adjust each side so it plants the same.
Probably the reason I kind of like the old MM better is that I found it in a retired ladies' barn and she only wanted $125 for it and it was in really good shape. I paid a LOT more for the GP! Somehow I expected drill technology to have advanced since 1952. AND the paint is better on the old MM! That is kind of funny! | |
