Back in the 60's Dad had a 50 with small 235 I think it did OK until I got old enough to haul grain to town. Then the little 6 just could not take a teenager with a heavy foot. He replace it with a 283 v/8 and boy was it fun to pass the new trucks with, 2 glass packs and dust in their face, got many lecture over that truck.
