Iowa | As long as Nissan did not do what GM did on the supercharged 3800, you'll be fine. GM used the exact same valve cover gaskets and intake manifold gaskets on the 3800 as they did on the supercharged 3800. However, the gaskets were not specified for the higher cylinder pressure that comes as a result of forced induction. Result? The supercharged 3800 is known to blow valve cover and exhaust manifold gaskets. GM has issued recalls on all of these but it has taken them quite a while to get their act together. How do I know this? I own a 2001 Grand Prix GTP.
