Electronic leak detectors are all show for Ag work to me every time i bring it out on a windless day all of a sudden a breeze comes up
Dye is good as long as you can see it. When you are chasing a slow leak i am currently of the opinion do it once do it good the first time.
On older machines we rehose them with air-o-crimp hose and fittings. Flush and pressure test condenser and evaporator with more scrutiny on the evaporator than the condenser unless it’s rusted. Never overlook checking the pressure switch for leaks.
I think there are better leak detectors available now
We also use dry nitrogen to pressure the system and soapy water
