I do a lot of a/c work both at the dealer I work at and at my farm where I repair A/c for neighbors. I put dye in every system i work on. Soone ror late rthey will leak and it saves time in the future. I use the FJC 1/4 ounce leak shot available at a lot of outlets. One bottle treats an entire system and makes finding leaks a snap with a light and goggles.
The cost is about 2.00 per unit and the black light and glasses are reasonable. In my opinion, the only way to go, I will not waste my money on a electronic leak detector.
