Subject: A/C to use dye, or not to use dye?

I'm sorta at a crossroads - we have one tractor that leaks and has had dye in it in the past, and others that are bound to leak real soon. I have an electornic leak detector, and I'm not sure how well it works. How about the UV dye systems? Seems like a simple enough idea - inject the UV dye, pull out the blacklight and goggles, and presto! leak found. I know some guys really don't like them at all, but I'm not of any of the reasoning..... Opinions?
