Subject: my hyd seat went back in

Remsen, Iowa
I did a similar thing on a 4650. Could not get the hyd seat to work. The accumulator had the proper charge, the seat still acted as the accumulator was bad. Decided to go with an air seat suspension, that sucked. Same problem as yours. It sat to high by the time you put enough air in the thing as to not bottom out all the time, then the thing was to stiff for a good ride.

Last fall I decided to put the hyd. seat back in and figure out why it did not work properly. Replace the seat valve with a junkyard valve. Still the seat did not work as advertised. After talking to the repair guy about this and trying a couple different things, I decided to take the 1/4 bleed off line and drain it in to a 1 gallon jug. Plugged the line dumping back into the transmission case. That was the fix. The Hyd. seat works as advertised now. I put on about 150 hours on the tractor this spring and have about a pint of oil in the jug from the bleed off line.
