Could be wrong, but it sounds to me like you are going to keep it, now that you made it a little shorter and you hot-wired the compressor to air up better. Am I wrong?
Either way, I think you ought to tell Shoup about it. They ought to know the instructions are crap. I would tell them about the other issues, too. $800 ought to buy a ~good~ seat, in my view...
