IL | The last gas tank I welded we opened all the fittings and used the steam cleaner to keep the tank full of steam. Kept steam in the tank for 15 minutes before we welded and during welding. Worked with no problem. I don't recommend this as I am now older and wiser, with a lot more bills to pay. A local welder told us this trick but was not willing to come and sit on the tank and hold it solid for us. This is in no way shape or form sound advice, just something I did once so I would have a good story to tell later. | |
