Could you flip the gear around in the gear box, like put the bevel gear on the other side of the input pinon gear? Or turn the gear box over and take the power out on what is now the up side? What makes me think of this is reading that people turn the differential gears over on old tractors and trucks when they want to use them going backward like for homemade loaders and what not.
