Subject: Reminds me of my Monkey Ward garden tiller....



It has a "shifter" with F-N-R on the handlebars.

Forward motion is achieved by pushing the lever forward until an idler pulley on the conventional V-belt snaps over center into place and stays there.

Reverse uses a similar technique with a twisted round belt. Also, reverse doesn't snap in, you have to hold it there.

Hi-tech stuff for 40+ year old gardening equipment.
