It's more clay type soil, with some areas that don't have much topsoil at all due to an extensive excavation project in the 1940s from straightening a couple creeks and backfilling. The corn on this piece made 26 in 2012. It seems like we always are dry here in August, on beans I've been putting on .3-.4 every 3 days during August. A little disappointed in the response I've seen in corn so far though....not sure what I'm doing wrong.
