Subject: Lets talk insulation . . spray foams and blown types ~

central - east central Minnesota -

Ya, lot of info on this site reguarding insulation types. Now, need some clarity with the different types ~

Spray Foams -

There are open cell and closed cell. What are the differences? Does the closed cell "gap" if the wood shrinks? Is one better then the other if it gets condensation or wet? What else to determan which one to go with?

Now, fiberglass or cellulose . . . For new home construction in COLD Minnesota . . .

Blown fiberglass or blown cellulose ? What are the differences? Is one better then the other as far as handling dampness?

How about mixing and matching the two types? One of the foams and one of the blown types of fiberglass or cellulose. Any recommendations?

What else needs to be know ?

The sales reps are vastly different in their presentations and the vast majority of info on here previously discussed is interesting, but undecisive . . .   Thanks in advance
