Record keeping. To know what cow had what calf. To know what heifer calves I want to keep back and more improtantly dont want to keep back. To know what calf came out of what bull, so there is not interbreading in the future. So I know what bull calves come out of what cows so in the future I can try to keep heifers out of those that produce kick ass bull calves.
