south texas | Not 900 at full power. I'm keeping the egt close to 900 max to keep pistons cool. I can make it go over 1200 if I load it up. Running a low gear keeps the egt down.
Egt is an autometer. 2nd one since the 1st one lost some of its display. It reads the correct ambient air temp when engine is cold. We have these gauges on 3 different tractors and this is the only one that runs high egt. I'll try a different pressure gauge. This was new in box. I blew out the test hose before installing
Exhaust is clear. Attached is pic under load at 900f egt. New oem jd muffler less than 500 hrs ago. New cam and rollers 20 hrs ago. New exhaust man 1500 hrs ago.
It's in a jd 8970. Cpl 1594. We added an air to air cooler with electric fans. Helped some but woul like it to run like my stx. It never gets to 800 egt.
