900* at full power? That doesn't seem too far out of line to me. Even then, do you trust that pyrometer? Just to make sure we are talking the same language... full power is full fuel, and engine lugged back to 'rated speed'... Not setting the fuel TO rated speed-
What's the exhaust smoke looking like under these conditions? Slight haze, or verge of blackening out the sun? What's the condition of the exhaust system? Muffler good shape; not rusted shut or coked up? 1000% certain you got the timing correct? But like the other guy said, knowing which 855 and how it's fueled would be nice to know. |
