I had some sold today. First time in years that I could not be there when they sold. Had some red heifer calves and one had some short horn , it is red and white everywhere. I know I should have just kept it, but I didn't for a couple reasons. I know damn good and well when the check shows up she was sorted off. I have asked several buyers over the years what color hide their last steak at a steakhouse had on it. Haven't ever gotten an answer that they would bet money on! We are not a big player at all. Space limitations. I tell myself every year that we need to get a system and a place to feed these out and sell private.
Why would the buyer know what colour the feeder was that he had a steak from? He’s buying calves to fill the orders he’s got. I don’t think too many feeders put in an order for paying extra for an animal that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the package. |
