It's the same way down here even on the cow calf side. Only the culls make it to an auction barn. The good calves are sold over the phone. I laugh every time my culls that didn't make the truck are tops at the sale barn. Lots of average cattle. Good cattle are limited and you have to hunt for them at a sale barn.
