It’s here too. I can’t get a packer to answer a telephone and this would be on 5 to 7 loads. Cattle will grade 95% plus choice and prime. Sale barn that sells fats is 270 miles away.
So - - - - how do you market your fats?
That's why a lotta years ago I was told to leave finishing to the guys that were close enough to the market to sell to the market.
Focus on doing a good job creating great cattle until a heavy feeder status - - - and then either retain ownership and get someone else to finish or just sell to the finisher.
Its tougher doing that if the numbers are lower though! |
