Subject: RE: Belt baler

I’m not sure what the options are on new balers but do you have the silage kit installed? I baled many, many thousands of alfalfa silage bales with a 567 and never had much trouble. The normal moisture range was between 40 and 50 but sometimes well over that. Extremely fine, short, leafy alfalfa will be the most likely to cause issues though. In those conditions the usual problem would be a clump of wet alfalfa would fall down between a roller and the belt and jamb a belt when closing the tailgate. In extremely wet conditions rollers could eventually build up but it normally took quite a lot of bales before that happened.

That my experience with a 567 baler anyways. I have no experience with anything newer.
