If you have a single plugged seed cell on a White corn plate and are shooting for 30k, you will automatically be reduced to 29k (its a 30 cell plate). If you're paying attention, you will see that on the SM3000. It won't put the words "plugged seed cell" on the read out for you but its telling you something is wrong.
Honestly, I've never encountered a plugged seed cell on our White planter while planting corn. Beans yes (fairly common with treated beans), corn no, it just doesn't happen.
Also, I never said the old SM3000 was better than current new monitors but it is plenty capable (for a White planter anyway, no idea about other colors and their overcomplicated meters) if you're willing to take the time to use it and pay attention to what its telling you. And they are cheap, there is no good reason for anyone to still be using a blinky light monitor for what a good used population monitor costs.
