| I am interested in planting Teff grass double crop behind winter wheat.
Here are the conditions-
Southern Illinois clay hills
Wheat harvested in Mid-June
Wheat straw to be removed at ground level
Teff no-till drilled on 8" spacing
Hay to be sold to the Horse market in small square bales
Double crop bean yield 25-35 bushel per acre
Here are my questions-
How many cuttings per year if planted Late-June?
How many Tons per acre if beans could yield 30 bushels per acre?
What is the Protein level and RFV?
Will Teff die off in the winter?
How well do horse owners like the hay?
Does Teff handle heat and dry weather?
What is the seeding rate with a no-till drill?
How much does the seed cost?
How much Nitrogen and other fertilizer is needed?
What are some of your experiences - the good and bad?
