Wheelersburg and Lancaster, Ohio | With all the distractions and time commitments I have away from the farm I’m not optimistic that I can continue farming. Getting everything done this spring has been a disaster. I have a factory job that used to real good about working with me to get the days off that I need to farm. New management won’t work with me the way the old guys did. Even when I get an extra day off all o get done is take kids to school pick kids up and take them to their after school activities. Kids are teenagers. And my wife travels more and more, 2-4 days a week, for her work. Short of a divorce I don’t see a solution. Then again the financial strain of that doesn’t seem feasible either. Maybe I just thought typing what has been weighing on me would help. |
