Subject: Oysters on the half shell

Pittsburg, Kansas
As part of a multi course dinner last night, had oysters on the half shell two ways as an apetizer.

Two were raw. Meh. I could eat them if starving, but not inclined to ever order them in a resturant. Then two baked ones which were better tasting, actually not too bad. Ten years ago I would not have touched either. These particular ones were from Holland and our guest said they were probably farmed and he preferred the wild ones from New England which tasted saltier. But down here you get what you can get as available.

Fortunately there were delicious courses following so it was an enjoyable dinner party. All at a friends house gathering.
