I have had very good results brushing on 3 coats of Rustoleum saftey yellow. Sounds corny but there isn't a brush stroke in it, they wipe down very easily and not a fiber of glass showing anywhere, when I put the planter away last spring I painted the insides Rustoleum gloss black, should ease the cleanup even more.
