Subject: 1250 Case IH planter- What the #%$@$%!

Cullom, Illinois
Went to look at my neighbor's brand new 24 row Case IH 1250 planter today. He has had lots of troubles with it (hasn't even went to the field yet). But this latest one just baffles me. His planter is ground drive. When you lower the planter, the frame on the carrying wheels smashes the seed drive shaft. I don't mean a little bit, its into it two or three inches. How can this be? There is no adjustment thats off or out of alignment. It just built wrong. He says the factory reps plan is to torch an area of the frame for clearance. Here's a thought. Let the planter down at the factory and see if everything works. Duh!!! And I see on here guys are carrying plastic seed dogs because they are breaking. On a brand new planter. Where's the quality control? $100,000 plus for a planter and they cut the frame with a torch so you can plant. Come on.
