Renville Minnesota | Weve run a wishek disc since 1997. (off and on). Weve had half of one fall where it was too wet for it. Bought a DMI, and found out what wet slabs feel like in the spring (but whatya do?) We seem to be able to get the corn off faster than anything else we do so tillage is purty far behind. the further behind, the blacker it gets. For corn on corn we chop (still haven't seen a chopping head chop as good as a chopper, but were switchin this fall), wishek, then chisle cuz the chisle has the NH3 on it. One pass in the spring FC, n plant. Weve been very satisfied with this. If your south, east, not too far west, or north of me, I think u'd be good to go. for some reason the rain come harvest has been hitting the north west of us guys purty hard in recent years. Whatever you do, don't pull it over 6 ish mph, you'll throw bearings. Put two bearings on our first wishek which had over 10,000 acres on it, bought a new one, and a tractor with tracks on it the same year, pulled it 7 mph and was throwing bearings every 200 acres. Good luck |
