Neighbors bought one last fall. Doesn't make it any blacker than a ripper. They run a chopping corn head. One guy I know has a chopping corn head, disks and then runs a ripper in the fall and field cultivator and crumbler in the spring. His ground is black. I would say either plow or have to make an extra trip.
