I'm just curious, why do you need to disk so deep? I would think we (ie NW IA farms) would have at least as much residue with BT stalks, etc. I guess I would think maybe your stalks don't degrade as much since it's dry, but around here, it's only a short time from harvest to frozen and then from frozen to planting, so we really don't see much stalk decay before tillage. Mainly they are just drier.
