Why not, they get away with in CA and AZ. I also hate 30" but with that high priced real estate down south, options are limited. I think 1, 80"X12" drill would work for zukes but yellow and crooks wouldn't do to well. Maybe 16"widex12"long double row offset like pepper would work for yellows on 80". Everything else should work and equipment would be plentiful since that standard row centers west of the Rocky's. In CA the custom operators have tractors set at 80" take it or leave it.
