N/E Iowa | 1999 J.D. 1760 12 row,(30inch) vac planter. On the other hand there are alot of 16, and more 24 row planters all the time around us. Even a few 36 row planters rolling. One farmer near me rolled into a field 10:00 p.m. planted 220 ac. with his 36 row and was done by 2:30 a.m. I couldn't believe how much he did in a little over 4 hours. That's around 50 ac. per hour....................... Can that be right? Must be I heard him pull out of the field across the road and headed down the road late in the night (2:30) the next morn planter gone, corn ALL planted!
If i do 130 ac. in a 12 hour day that's a big day for me. lol
