Subject: RE: Dawn Strip Till Mantainence

Blue Earth, MN
We run about 100 acres/row through ours each spring and fall. Every wheel, coulter, trash wheel, pivot point, etc gets greased before each season (fall and spring). I figure grease is cheap compared to change bearings and it only takes about 5-10 minutes/row each time. This spring, as Joe mentioned, I did grease the coulters mid-season mostly because of the fertilizer application and the drier conditions. Probably didn't need it just had a rainy day and thought that was a good time to do that. I also will grease the parallel pivots every couple days. I guess that is over kill also.
