Subject: RE: Dawn Curvetines and cornstalk rootballs

Driftless SW Wisconsin
the best solution for getting rootballs out of the way - and doing a more unifoorm job of seeding boty corn and beans into cornstalks ESPECIALLY worked stalks is to use row cleaners up front to move them to the side. If this is not ossible now, there are two things you can do: 1) stagger the wheels by moving the rubber tire to the rear hole (a 60-70 percent solution) 2) add the little bolt in dams available from Shoup etc ahesd of the staggered wheels. The combination should take care of most of the problem. Using row cleaners would be my best solution. Although if stalks are worked and rootballs are loose but below row cleaners the dam still helps. Thanks for your business. When you see the emergence with Curvetines I think you will not mind a little fine tuning for your situation. Jim at Dawn
